Beyond the standard models
These methods are not covered in depth yet. Each has its own method page planned. Until then, this page says what they are for.
Copulas
Describe how two outcomes depend on each other, separately from how each behaves on its own.

Joint models
Model a repeatedly measured biomarker and the time to an event together, instead of one after the other.

Competing risks in depth
The basics are in the competing risks method page. More complex questions, such as several competing events or time-varying effects, need more care.

Bayesian analysis
Combines prior information with the data and reports the result as a probability distribution for the effect.

When to see a statistician
- Your question does not fit any question in the test chooser.
- You want to build a prediction model, not compare groups.
- You are planning a method from this page, or one you cannot explain in a sentence.
- You are about to choose an analysis only because it gives the result you hoped for.
Bring the research question and the study design, not only the data. A statistician helps most before the data are collected.
